the "Vengeance" of a Gladiator (2000)

Maximus

Gladiator - barbaric warriors of Rome. The cutscene of interest was when Commodus demanded Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Army of the North, General of Felix Legions and loyal servant to the true Emperor Marcus Aurelius [Commodus's deceased father] to make known of himself.

If not because of Lucius, I bet the Emperor would have gone down the second Maximus got the chance with the arrowhead, because he got nothing to lose anymore. One man left to kill, then he's done. Revenge for his murdered wife and son would be served in this life or the next [me wrote it this way doesn't even compared to the feelings of hearing it].

The plot build up, up to this point was really tensed, but why would he still bothered by Lucius? Because of Lucilla? Or is it the wish of the dying 'old man'?

"Strength and Honor".
-"cause you're already dead".

The humbleness of a farmer, down to earth.
-I'll give you the throne...
-"with all my heart, ... no".

Survival fueled by anger and revenge.
- Death? "not yet".
